FAQ

Q: How is this different from using the GPIO pins on a standard Raspberry Pi?

A: Standard Raspberry Pi GPIO pins operate at 3.3V logic levels. That’s fine for basic digital I/O, but it stops at the logic-signal stage. In industrial environments, I/O typically works very differently. Most systems use 24V signals or dry-contact interfaces such as relays. This is necessary to interface with real-world devices—sensors, actuators, solenoid valves, motors, and other industrial equipment.

This product bridges that gap. It allows those real-world industrial devices to be safely and reliably connected to ComfilePi, translating industrial-level signals into a form the system can use. In short, it’s the difference between hobby-level GPIO and true industrial I/O designed for the real world.
